Testimonials

Here are a few words from people other than myself!

The Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI) recently hosted an exhibition by Rooky Wood, which was fantastic and received many positive responses from both the general public and members. The photographs were exceptional and the sculpture was equally as exceptional. John was a very well received artist and took time out to talk those viewing the exhibition and was a pleasure to have in the Institution. He has made many people re-examine the perspective of art. The BRLSI was very happy to exhibit this remarkable work.

John's fair but excessive charges forced us into cancelling the Wedding reception [inc the band, bar, marquee, etc]. We had to invite everyone to a bring your own picnic instead. Our mechanic borrowed a customers car for our transport & we spent our wedding night in an old shed. Fortunately John made up for our shortfalls , being excellent entertainment , even MC when required, illusive when not, Oh & producing a mind blowing photo album. Would'nt have changed a thing John . Thanks for recording the memories of a perfect day XXX.

P.S. I'm sure John would like me to tell you how professional etc etc he is, that he's only blind in one eye & that I made up the bit about excessive charges. Some of the above is true.

John has transformed the imagery of my sculpting from what was only three dimensional into a whole new world. I can't pretend to understand the details involved in lighting, framing, focus & so on, however to see a piece of work I have put my soul into suddenly come to life on "paper" is more than anyone could hope for. John you will be photographing all my work in future. Thank you for transforming my web site & getting me heard ! Jules

The sheer scope of John's help and support through the planning and procedures of our wedding are near impossible to do justice to in words.
Recommended by a friend of ours whose wedding pictures we had seen imbued with such resonance and sensitivity, we contacted John and begun our mutual relationship with a sit down chat at our house.
From that moment on, we had in front of us not only a much-needed personal level of experience, humour, and encouragement, but a man whose handling of photography raised each chosen instance and composition to an emotional and technical art form.
As we looked towards our wedding, saw it arriving, felt it pass through us, and reflected on its happening, John's involvement continually acted as a refreshing, exciting, and genuinely passionate part of what was so important to us. At no point whatsoever did either of us doubt that the pictures from our wedding would be anything less than instinctively sympathetic glimpses of ourselves and our families in the briefest but most significant moment of our lives.
As we look back through our wedding pictures and see the reality glimmering in eyes, faces, scenes - the beauty of the day as it actually was - we will forever be grateful that we were lucky enough to find someone with such equal compassion and skill to be with us to chronicle our journey.
To a gifted photographer, and now friend, we say thank you.

John's professionalism and yet refreshing humour made the day so much more fulfilling and special. Taking photo's on a wedding day can sometimes be quite laborious but with his eye for detail and ability to cater to our every need, we got more than the results we wanted and still had plenty of time to spend with our guests. The rapport he had with everyone made them all feel very much part of the day. We have some very special photographs of our big day - Thanks a million John!!
