Robin

This female Robin has been busy in my garden this weekend just gone (21/6/09) I've read that Robins tend to stay in the same nest all season, so since we are some way into the year I'm guessing that she may have left the old nest in dramatic fashion, since her tail feathers are missing entirely. It's been a real privilege seeing this tiny bird back and forth for the past four days - indeed the new nest in the ivy requires an almost hummingbird type approach, and occasionally she returns to the handlebars of my bike in order to get her breath back for another go. Welcome Robin....

Post Script: Sadly a few weeks after these photos were taken the ivy was cut whilst I was out and the Robin abandoned the nest leaving one dead chick.

Man is a blundering fool.
