Well, there comes a time in every photographer's life when new equipment is needed. And so it is that I have to put my old camera out to pixelated pasture and usher in her new all-singing all-dancing replacement. The first task which I set for the new girl on the block was to capture a small but heartfelt tribute to my old bit of kit, which has accompanied me through some of the most excellent and exciting times in my photographic career... smokey forms, bursting bubbles, and a myriad of beautiful images have all flickered into life (after a short pause) on that little screen at the back. Ahh happy days!

(For the sake of romance I choose to leave out all the moments when perhaps things did not go "as planned"!!!)

The second task was another ground-breaking one for me as I had a live (that's NOT DEAD) bird to photograph! My thanks go to Julian from ABEE PEST CONTROL of Chippenham who kindly agreed to bring Reef in for me to capture. She sure is beautiful, and I hope I have managed to catch a little of her character... with my new camera - did I mention that?

Anyway, the camera has changed but the job remains the same.

Long Live Summer! x John - deep in the Rooky Wood.
