Rooky Wood Wakes From Winter With Wonderful Wedding And Wall Space!
07/02/10
Well, what can I say except it's all change here in the wood. It may not look like it yet, but as the sun's strengthening rays slowly stir my hibernating form into action, there's going to be some notable new business here on these cyber pages. And all for one good reason.
The studio is back!!
Yes. For those of you who remember such heady times, back in mid 2008 I was forced to give up my studio and have since been perched in a small space somewhere on the outskirts of Bath - hence the appearance since then of less photographic output and more sculptures etc. But now I have decided that despite its unique unsuitability in terms of both location and dimensions, this small space MUST become photographically productive; so away with that workbench, tear down those shelves, be gone jeweller's pliers, and sod this for a game of solders!! (All of which could be better summed up in the phrase "I'll take that stuff to my house and clear this space").
So, that done, the next couple of months should see a fresh wave of new photographic work pouring forth once more from the Rooky Wood - Just like the real thing - so stay tuned - x
Two other points well worthy of mention are firstly that I have a brief exhibition coming up at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (www.brlsi.org) in Queen Square, between the 13th and 28th of this month. Come and see me and my work (Latte, plenty of sugar thanks!) since the Institute is worth visiting all of its own accord, and frankly I could do with the support!
And last, but by no means least, my hearty congratulations go to Lyndsay & Jay, who were married in January and were good enough to chose me to shoot proceedings. I certainly had a splendid day, and I trust you'll agree they sure made my photos look good!! Well done all x
There, that's about it for this bulletin - oh, before I go, please note that there's now a testimonials page which all are welcome to contribute to - simply go to the "contact/comment" page and TESTIFY! (Don't worry, just like the Iraq Inquiry, no one will be held accountable!)
Ta ta
John - Amongst green shoots in the ragged Rooky Wood. x
